The Dension ice Link Lite is an iPod car adapter for vehicles and radios that support Aux Audio input. There are two options available depending whether you have a factory fitted radio or an aftermarket radio that supports aux audio input.
Factory Fitted Radios
Some factory fitted car radios found in the BMW 1 Series (E87), 3 Series (E90), selected Ford models and the Saab 93 have an Aux Input to allow connection of an external audio device such as an Apple iPod or other portable MP3 player. To identify if your vehicle has this feature, look for an AUX button on your radio or consult your radio user manual. The ice Link Lite connects in-line with the wiring harness for your vehicle to enable connection, charging and playback of your iPod.
Aftermarket Radios
Some aftermarket car radios (e.g. Alpine, Pioneer, Sony, etc) have an Aux Input in the form of 2 RCA connections (left & right audio). To identify if your vehicle has this feature look for the AUX-IN connection on the rear of your radio or consult your radio user manual. The ice Link Lite connects to the rear AUX-IN RCA connections and wiring loom of your radio to enable connection, charging and playback of your iPod.
Please note: In both the above options , the ice Link Lite offers charging and audio input only. Control of your artists / songs / playlists must be via the iPod itself.
With the Dension ice Link Lite, you can have your iPod within easy reach by choosing the Dension Active Cradle application or hide it away with the Dension Dock Cable application. Here is some further information to help you choose which iPod application is best for you.
Dock Cable - The Dension dock cable is compatible with all iPods that have the bottom dock connector. Refer to the compatibility information below to ensure that your iPod is supported. This iPod connection method is ideal for discrete installation of your iPod in the glove box, arm rest or similar hidden location. The Dension dock cable will charge your iPod.
Active Cradle - The Dension active cradle is compatible with all iPods that have the bottom dock connector (inserts are supplied that reduce the cradle to suit the smaller iPod family members). Refer to the compatibility information below to ensure that your iPod is supported. Choose this iPod connection method if you want your iPod within easy reach on your dashboard. The iPod is held securely in place and can be removed when you exit the vehicle. The Dension active cradle will charge your iPod.
